For those who missed the announcement on the storefront, I took the last week off to spend some time with my fiancé, J, and recharge my batteries. We spent a large portion of the week on or around the water, which of course made me happy beyond measure. We also were in and around Charleston, SC, one of my favorite cities in the entire state.
For anyone able to visit, I highly recommend a trip to this incredibly diverse city. It’s a fabulous meld of rich southern history and fresh, hip hotspots.
An amazing amount of renovations and expansions over the last few years have breathed new life into an old land. Hit up the old landmarks in the southern peninsula, Rainbow Row, The Battery, and Market Street. Then head over to one of the new restaurants in the east side for almost anything you could want to eat. Seriously. J wanted catfish (yes, freshwater fish at the beach). Magnolia’s had some that was to die for. He also wanted oysters (fresh, not fried like everything in the south). Fleet Landing served them well, along with an awesome view of the harbor in a super cute, totally upcycled building.
I highly recommend them. We walked off our food while exploring the streets and drooling over the gorgeous row houses, and between them and the lovely Waterfront Park, I have lots of inspiration for upcoming pieces. Make sure you keep an eye on the store over the next week. 😉
Hope everyone is having an equally awesome summer so far too!
Love always,
