Today is my birthday. I thought it would be fitting to write the first post for the new blog, to mark both the milestone of the twenty-six years I’ve spent on this planet, as well as the milestone of a new online home for a brand that’s been many years in the making. I also want to use this first post as an opportunity to thank all the people who have helped me get to where I am today:
My family and friends have offered tremendous support over the years, acting as guinea pigs or mannequins, becoming my first repeat customers, and dealing with my shenanigans on this roller coaster of life. I am truly the luckiest girl alive to have such an incredible group of people in my life.
My colleagues, new and old, who have never ceased to have an answer to the millions of questions I’ve asked, who have always been able to point me in the direction of extra help if they didn’t know the answer, and who have been willing to test my methods and offer honest advice. I could not have built this without them.
My customers, some of whom have been with me from the very beginning, back when I was just a teenager with a big dream and a ton of ideas. In the ten years I’ve been in the business, I have sold all over the country and the world. It has blown my mind to think that my pieces have been worn by people I’ve never met in places I’ve never been, who have loved each item as much as I did when I created it.
Thank you so much for you support and your love. It’s been a crazy, wonderful, incredible journey and I look forward to what the next ten years bring for me, my company, and all of you.
